Been running current version of Firefox for a week or so and today upon exiting Firefox I get a message from Acronis saying ransomware is trying to infect my system. TGhe message requested block? and restore files. ' I uninstalled Firefox and reloaded it from Mozilla.com and now Firefox will not start. ' Getting message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item" ' I am using a administrative user ID as always so I am at wits end as to what to do about this. ' Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with Acronis security software. The first step is to make sure you are not actively being attacked. While I don't know what is best for stopping and rolling back ransomware attacks, you could try the general cleaning tools listed in our support articles: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.
