Firefox closes tabs if the the mouse is over one and the middle button is pressed. I want to disable this feature. I can not find this setting in the menu or about:config (I have tried disabling every setting with regards to middleclick in about:config).

Thank you

Does the mouse have the drivers for it installed? The 3rd button probably is configured through the mouse software/driver not through FF.

There is or were Tab related extensions like Tab Mix Plus but it has not been updated as a web extension for 57+

This is on Linux and not Windows ;) and the OP wants to do this in Firefox and not a system wide change.

So there is currently no way to change the action of clicking the middle mouse button in 57+ ?
