I can't upgrade to 3.6.12 or uninstall 3.6.8 without getting a box that says I need to reboot to finish a previous upgrade now
When I open FF there is a box that that ask if I want to set FF as my default. I click yes and then a box opens that says I need to reboot to finish a previous upgrade. I click reboot now and after it reboots I open FF and it repeats. I downloaded .12 and after the 2nd box in the install it says I need to reboot and if I try to uninstall .8 it says I need to reboot. If I say no it goes back to the uninstall and repeats if I reboot it all occurs again and again and again. Can't uninstall can't upgrade.

If a reboot is needed then that usually means that some (security) software is blocking files or you need elevated (UAC or Administrator) permissions.
Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
If that doesn't help then do a clean (re)install.
- Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
- Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
- Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You do not need to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.
I get the "SETUP your computer must be rebooted to complete a previous upgrade of firefox. do you want to reboot now?" every time I try to open firefox. I have new icon so it appears the upgrade worked. I need access to firefox!
