You are using a Mac to ask your question. If you go to that page with a Mac, the fact that you are using a Mac is detected (as on most Mozilla help articles), and the Mac instructions are displayed. What is the point of putting in revised instructions for Mac Firefox if the whole thing applies only to Windows? In that case, browser-sniffing will not be much help anyway. I take it that this kind of thing will be only for Windows, never for Mac OS?

Alice, That first page is still showing the Mac-adjusted first step for disabling the service. "1. On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Preferences... ."
