For the past years my TB sometimes does not attach PDF files. Recipients report not receiving them, and when I check my Sent mail, the email that I sent with the PDFs does not show any attachment. I'm using TB 38.4, Mac 10.7.5. I really like TB, but am ready to resolve this issue.

As far as Thunderbird is concerned an attachment is an attachment. It cares not if it is a PDF or any other file type.

However anti virus programs care. Do you have one scanning mail? Some mail servers care. Mostly large commercial ones that drop attachments, or attachments over a certain size.

I'm not using any anti-virus program for TB, and my mail server is gmail. To ensure that my PDFs reach my recipients, I send them via gmail.

I really do not know. But a quick google points to issues with apple products. Even the support site at Adobe talks of issues with outlook, IOs Iphone etc. If you learn anything on an of the apple or adobe support sites please pass it along.
