when i close FF it often is NOT closed but still running in background I can not close it with task manager the only fix is to restart ?????

at some point in a long session FF grows in Memory used in my Task manager it is 148,696 I can not stop the process in Task Manager. When i try to end the process nothing happens. when i try to open it i get a close ff msg ... FF is already running but not responding to open a new window you must ....etc.

i have to restart my computer every time to get it to stop so I can reopen FF

Open Task Manager -> go to Processes section -> righ-click firefox.exe and click End Process Tree. After that see the following link and perform the steps suggested in the Last Paragraph with 6 Bulleted points.
