Chosen solution

I received a suggestion today from a lady at the Mozilla Helpdesk tmed at 00.31hours This was a long link to a forum (I think) and a suggestion to download "AdwCleaner", which I have done. This has solved the problem and has removed my unwanted message.

Unfortunately, the email form the Helpdesk has disappeared from my computer, so I can't reply to her to thank her.

Does anyone know the Helpdesk's email address?

Thank you.

Can you provide more information on the settings alert?

To FredMcD:

Thanks for your response.

The message is: "An attempt to change your home page and default search has been blocked. Click to Chang your settings". In the top left-hand corner of the message box is a blue circle with a white tick, and in the top right-hand corner is a red square with a white cross. Neither the tick nor the cross nor the "click here" respond. The message disappears only when Frirefox closes..

I spent over an hour on the phone to Apple yesterday morning and they cleared 25.000 items to trash, which is still emptying 26 hours later. From what you write, I assumed that they have cleRed caches.

They also uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I have been using this application for several years now and do not understand why this blockage of Yahoo emails should arise.

I may try the cookies route, but do not feel very confident about undertaking such procedures.

I'll see if things improve when the trash has finished emptying. If not I think I may ditch Firefox.

Regards,

Ken.

Your clip was not posted. Please try again.

If you can, reboot the computer. If something does not want to close, you may have to force quit.

I still have the same problem whenever I use Firefox.

I did receive a message from the Mozilla Helpdesk, asking for a screenshot. I sent one but have not had any response from them.

Is this a known problem and can it be solved?

Ken Wilson.

Most problems can be fixed. But the first step is to discover what the problem is.  :-/

I was going back over the postings. This is on you cel? Copy the picture to your computer. Use its programs to convert your picture to JPG. Then post it here.

Go over the other programs on your system. Use a web search on anything that you don't know.

I've put a copy of the screenshot in iPhoto but don't seem to be able to copy and paste or drag it into this support area.

I intend therefore to uninstall Firefox and perhaps return to it in a few months' time.

It seems to me that I'm being asked to carry out development work for Mozilla.

Under the reply box is a Browse button. Pressing it will open a file browser window. Locate and select the file(s) you want to post.

I've been trying that: "Add images: choose file", but this doesn't take me to the image in iPhoto. Could this be because the image is a screenshot and may not be in a folder on the hard drive?

What is the format of the file? Save it as JPG and try again.

Thanks for that.

I didn't knowingly delete the message. I've already checked the trash and deleted items but the message isnt in either place.

The message disappeared when I clicked on the link it contained. It's a mystery to me.

Thanks for your help.
