Bookmarks do not show in Library or on Bookmarks bar
I have a new PC running Windows 10 Professional 64-bit and I have just installed Firefox 32-bit as the 64-bit version is not compatible with an important website that I use. I have discovered that when I save websites to my bookmarks they do not appear in my Library or show on my Bookmarks bar however when I navigate manually to one of the websites that I have saved the start shows blue indicating that it is a bookmarked page.
Can anybody suggest what the problem might be?
Thanks
David

Thanks jscher2000, I found the latest version of Firefox 32-bit here http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/57.0.4/win32/en-GB/ upgraded my version to 57.0.4 and now everything works as it should.
Many thanks for the advice.

Hi David, by default new bookmarks are saved in a category called Other Bookmarks, previously known as Unsorted Bookmarks. These have a separate fly-out menu on the optional Bookmarks Menu button, or in the Bookmarks Sidebar. You can move them to the menu/toolbar at the time of creation by changing the folder in the little panel, or after creation using the Library window (Bookmarks Organizer called up using "Show All Bookmarks").
The optional new bookmarks menu button () should work the same way as the old bookmarks menu button (), which was the "right-half" of the inseparable star+book duo.
To add that button, either:
(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar
(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?
- Click the "Library" button:
- Click "Bookmarks"
- Click "Bookmarking Tools"
- Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"
Was that the explanation or are they not there, either?
Thanks for your response jscher2000, I think I may be on a slightly different version of Firefox as I don't see the options and symbols you refer to. I'm running 52.5.3 (32-bit) and it's important I run a 32-bit version on 64-bit Windows 10 PC.

Hi David, thanks for the extra info. The first section of my reply is still applicable. The second section relates to Firefox 57.
