I have been using Firefox without problem since April 14, 2011. In the last few days, the Tools>Downloads (cmd-J) stopped working. My downloaded files are in the downloads directory found at username/downloads, but neither the keyboard shortcut nor going to Tools>Downloads will work.

I have reinstalled 4.0.1 and deleted the plist file from my Library/Firefox directory.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion cor-el, but that didn't work. Any other ideas?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Are there any messages in the Tools > Error Console about this?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
