Firefox is the only browser on my Mac that constantly is sluggish and gets the spinning rainvow wheel...how do I fix this??
Scrolling through websites immediately triggers the dreaded spinning rainbow wheel. This doesn't happen on Chrome or Safari at all. They are both lighting fast, and Firefox used to be. Not sure why this is the case now. I have OS X El Capitan, V. 10.11.4 and it's a relatively new MacBook air. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The 'spinning wheel' means the computers CPU is being overworked.
Does this happen on all web pages, some, a few? Are there videos/pictures on those pages?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

It's on gmail, facebook, freepeople.com, anthropologie.com, and any other retail site. It only happens on Firefox. The same pages in Safari or Chrome work fine!
