Hi, the article was updated for Firefox 57. If the instructions seem out of date, could you check something:

In the left column, expand the "Editing Tools" section, then look for a little version selector control and make sure it shows Firefox 57. That should adapt the article to your version.

Anyway, the steps are the same as Firefox 56. Where do you encounter a problem?

You can set network.cookie.thirdparty.sessionOnly to true on the about:config page to make third-party cookies behave as session cookies that expire when Firefox is closed.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Note that is a lot of cases it is sufficient to create a cookie "Allow" exception for specific domains instead of enabling all third-party cookies globally. It is only more work to determine what domains are involved.
