This shifting is up then down then up again, etc. This just started to happen this morning but had happened before a very long time ago.

I have tried the following:

1) restarting FF 2) restarting the computer 3) running in safe mode 4) viewing the same page previously saved to my computer instead of viewing the page directly on the web

Seems to be a FF problem. Have very few add-ons.

Thank you.

BTW, this has nothing to do with any toolbars which remain the same throughout.

This sounds like an element is having problems displaying on your browser. Or it could be an ad popping in and out.

Is this on all websites, some, a few?

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

The problem resolved itself when I traveled to another location and logged into that wifi.

I am sure that this problem was NOT caused by the previous wifi as I have used it many times before without issues.

This issue VERY seldom happens but when it happens it is very frustration.

To answer a couple of comments:

Flash is disabled in my browser unless I specifically authorize it to start.

No ads were going in and out.

The page I was on (at both locations) was http://www.sandman.com/cosearch.asp (area code 215). Note that I had no problem the day before when accessing this page from another regularly used wifi location. I doubt that it is a wifi problem but anything is possible..

When this happens it is very strange. But, as I said, everything is normal now.

Thanks for all your responses.
