hard drive failed, reinstalled Thunderbird, system said there was an update, when downloaded and executed I was upgraded to version 91.0.1 now whenever I start Thunderbird, try to send or receive e-mail I am prompted for my server password, even when I have told it to be saved all the online help says "At the top of the Thunderbird window, click the Tools menu and select Options, or click the menu button and choose Options" my menu does not have "options" in either location when I go under "account settings" / "thunderbird prefetences" / "privacy and security" I have no saved passwords

Lets start at the beginning. Options has been renamed preferences in V91. That is all.

Now to your problem, because it probably has nothing to do with Thunderbird at all. Most likely, it will be your anti virus blocking this new unknown and foreign program is have never heard of. Check it's firewall component and ensure it recognizes V91 as opposed to the previous version. Or wait until it get the message from it's home server in a week or so.

The most mentioned anti virus with this issue appears to be Norton's, but all the big players get a mention occasionally.
