I have spent two days trying to fix this issue. When I visit various YouTube websites or do some other searches I end up with Odd Characters in my Search Text Box Auto Complete. See the attached Screen Shot. I have Firefox set to clear all site data when I close the browser. I have even done a clear History manually two times and occasionally the characters still show up. Is this a DEAL breaker you bet your cookies it is. I am having trouble trusting your claims about privacy.....

Those are CJK characters (Chinese, Japanese. Korean), in your case maybe Japanese.

Are you using a VPN or proxy to connect to internet as that is a possible cause for DDG showing them as a suggestion ?

cor-el thanks for the response I have no VPN unless my ISP is using one and I do not know about it. I do go through cloudflare with the 1.1.1.1 concept but I doubt they are routing traffic to any of the Chinese, Japanese. Korean countries

Hi Dwight, thanks for the email, replying here so that other people can find it if they have a similar issue.

I believe that the suggestions there are being generated by DuckDuckGo, so it might be worth trying to contact them. Here is their help site: https://help.duckduckgo.com/

I don't know how they determine language, but one thing that you could check is your locale. If you navigate to about:support, there is a section called "Internationalisation & Localisation" a fair way down the page.
