Email local folders have disappeared
I recently did a Thunderbird update and now all of the local folders in my email account have disappeared.

How, exactly, did you do that "update"?
I have not heard of Thunderbird erasing folders under Local Folders.
What version are you using now?
Do you have a backup from before you "did a Thunderbird update" that you could roll back to?
