firefox does not allow me to open additional tabs
I believe it happened after a firefox update, but am not certain. I used to be able to open multiple tabs, but now I cant. Options are all correct and it wont work by clicking the +tab, or by control-t or from the the file/new tab.

Upgrade your browser to Firefox 9 and check
Uninstall the Ask Toolbar. It can cause that problem -- new tabs will not open.
