hello, looking at your settings it looks like some sort of adware, toolbar or potentially malicious software has taken over your keyword search (when you enter a term into the locationbar). do a full scan of your system with your security software already in place and remove all toolbars or suspicious programs in the windows control panel. then try to reset firefox and see if this improves the situation (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords).
already did a scan and system is clear reset firefox and still have same problems rest of computer and IE works fine
do the unresponsive script errors name the script that is slowing things down?
make sure that firefox.exe and the plugin-container.exe have full permission to access the internet in your security software (maybe remove all rules for them and let the software detect them again), Configuring Norton Internet Security
please also keep all plugins up-to-date: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
godamn this is pissin me off is there a way i can just undo the update and go back to 3.6 or whatever and keep all my boomarks or maybe i should just give up on firefox forever i dont want to rant but if firefox worked perfect before why change anything also is there a way i can find the posts ive made the only way ive been able to do it so far is to search the title of my post word for word (or else it will bring up the exact same posts that dont help)

yep still no soloution to the problem way to go firefox
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Yeah I got the same too. Really bloody annoying! Try [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unresponsive_Script_Warning] for a workaround. Kinda works.

@Anon_777 & @bkoperski Same issue with me too and it really kills my hardrive too. Am gonna look for a past version of firefox 3.6 online. I can't deal with this update messing up my computer
I've just downloaded FF3.6 again as am sick of this update. Get 3.6 again here - http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Cheers Andy-Traxsource, yeah i've just dropped back to 3.6 too. I was getting the stupid script errors on 'https everywhere' and 'ghostery'.
Come on Mozilla FIX THIS!!
I haven't had any such problem.
Problems like this are usually caused by a firewall not recognizing the update properly. For information on how to configure your firewall, visit http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firewalls
I'd be interested to hear how a firewall can cause script errors when browsing AFTER you have successfully installed the update and restarted the pc? My firewall was disabled when I installed the update and (as recommended by Mozilla) I have allowed all traffic from firefox.exe and plugin-container.exe . I have however noticed that if I drop back to version 3.6, restart the pc, clear all the cache/temp files/etc then re-install version 12 only. it seems to be fine. If I then upgrade to version 13 I'm back to the stupid unresponsive script errors.
Hi everyone, I too have a computer now that has slowed since an automatic update hit today ( 1st Sept 2012 ) I tried to hit the "contact" section of Firefox and it took 2mins 23 secs to load, everything has almost stopped, its completely ridiculous, I too would like to know if there's going to be either an auto fix for this or a way to wipe the new version out and revert back to the one that worked !
Really Really P*****d off
