How can I modify the find function to show results at the bottom or the top of the window in stead of in the middle?

When using the search function in older versions of firefox the found and highlighted word in the web page was always located at the bottom when searching for the next item for example. In more recent versions the highlighted word appears closer to the middle. This is hard enough to actually see in optimal conditions. Matters are made only worse when searching near the bottom or top of the page, then results appear wherever they want to be. Is there any way to change this back? I couldn't find an option in the about:config page.

The result appears at the center unless there are multiple results on the screen and in this case Firefox doesn't scroll to center the next result.

  • Bug 171237 - Find in Page: highlighted result should be at the middle of the page (vertically centered) instead of last line/bottom of page

I understand this, but I want to change it to show them at the bottom every time.
