Untrusted Connection missing "I Understand the Risks" section

more options

Running Firefox 33.1.1 on Windows 7, attempting to access https://code.google.com. I get the "This Connection is Untrusted" page, (specifically sec_error_unknown_issuer) but there is no "I understand the risks" section to allow me to add an exception. Other posts have suggested trying to "forget this page", which did not resolve the issue, or "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab", which does not appear on right-click in this case. I also tried going into "View Page Info" but there was nothing in there to allow me to add the certificate either.

Chosen solution

Open this chrome URI by pasting or typing this URI in the location/address bar to open the "Add Security Exception" window and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field type/paste the URL of the website

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • inspect the certificate via the "View..." button

Do you have the problem only for this page ?

It seems to happen for any page at code.google.com. That's the only place I have noticed it so far, but admittedly I haven't tried secure connections in a lot of places since my last update. Is there any other site in particular that I should try?

I have now updated to FF 34.0 and the issue persists.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Thank you very much.
