Dear, [if this text is not formatted wit the linefeeds as pressed during the writing of it, you may contact me to receive a "formatted" version ;-) ]

We noticed a behaviour in the selection/entering of an email addressee, that we somehow never observed before, but is confirmed on two independent computers/installations.

Scenarios: One can enter an email address by starting to "type ahead"... A dropdown / selection box would open - presenting a filtered list from (harvested) address book - where one can select an item from. We tested various behaviors, one of which seems to be suffering a BUG.

1./ locate the email address of your choice by using arrow-up/down, then <enter>

    result: OK

2./ locate the email address of your choice by using (single) mouse click, then click on next field ...

result: address is correctly displayed/entered in the address field,

3./ locate the email address of your choice by using "double" mouse click ...

remark: this actually equals a "single" mouse click, followed by the next click in the field below - hence no separate case
    result: same as 2./

4./ locate the email address of your choice by using "single" mouse click, then hit <enter> to confirm the entry ...

result: although after the first mouse click, the email address displayed/accepted ewuals the intended one,
however, after the <enter>, this address would be finally be replaced by the first address in the filtered dropdown-list !!!

In our opinion, scenario "4./" represents a BUG-issue ! The expected behaviour should be that the address selected - and initially presented/displayed - after the single click, would be kept and confirmed after hitting <enter>

As the current behavior may lead to mis-addressing - depending on the author's habits or occasional action - I would kindly request a rapid solution/correction to this issue.

Kind regards, Pascal

Thank you. There is a bug report for this and it's being worked on. If you can't wait for a fix, then an alternative workaround is to go back to TB v24.6, available here:

Thank you for prompt response. Is there a way where we (ordinary users) can follow what bugs/features are currently worked on - with eventually also an expected solution availability estimate ?  ;-) (some kind of "Bugzilla" perhaps ?)

Please note this bug only occurs if you use TAB or ENTER.

If you use your mouse to select email address and use mouse to move to next line then it does not occur.

Suggest you use this method. This method does not require using the TAB or ENTER keys, so will not produce the bug. In new Write mesage. Use the Contacts Sidebar 'View' > 'Contacts sidebar' or toggle view using f9 key. select address book Select contact(s) click on 'Addto TO' button or other options.
