Hi, I have to email a lot of images as part of my job. I usually do this by opening the image in Windows image viewer and then clicking on the 'email' tab which will ask me what file size I want attach and then launch Thunderbird and create a email containing the attachment. A few days ago I received an automatic Thunderbird update and since then this facility doesn't work. To me it seems there is a problem with the interface between the Windows picture viewer and Thunderbird. I've tried to go back to an earlier registry but this hasn't solved the problem. Thanks, Bob

Loss of the Send button often means that the Mail Toolbar had been disabled. In the Composition window, right click at the top, in or near the title bar and look for a pop-up window where you can enable the toolbar.

Ctrl+enter well also send a message.

Does anything in this thread help?

Which version of Windows are you using? Which image viewer? Does it work from your file explorer?

Hi,

I'm running Windows 7 and using the the basic windows image viewer which comes with Windows 7.
No, it doesn't work from my file explorer. I've just noticed the 'reply' button seems to have disappeared and so I can no longer reply directly to emails although I can reply by right clicking on the email in the main menu and selecting 'reply to sender only'.

I've tried downloading Thunderbird again and I've noticed when I initially try to use it an icon briefly pops up saying 'Thunderbrid cannot load XPCOM'. Regards, Bob

It was the 'reply' button which was missing, not the 'send' , however your answer put me on the right track and I discovered the customise toolbar feature in the main menu and have re-instigated the reply features. Many thanks. Bob
