Hello, recently I have been getting this message a short time after opening Firefox. It looks like the attached picture. Based on what I have seen, crash reports can help get to the root of the problem, however, Firefox doesn't seem to be generating crash reports after these tab crashes. Can anyone help me with both of these issues?

Note: V55 has been giving users problems. Reinstall v54.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

I can't see your screenshot or you forgot to upload it. Can you give any links that cause the crash so others can try to reproduce the issue.

Did you try the same website in safe mode? If that works try to find if any addon is causing the issue.

I've noticed that it happens when I'm on YouTube. Not sure if it happens on other video sites. It still crashes in safe mode. Here are the last 3 crash report ID's that Firefox generated, however it hasn't submitted them.

That is a good idea, go to about:crashes and submit the crash reports and post the URLs here so we can diagnose something from it.

I found a bug that seems to point to a problem similar to yours, I will post your logs to that bug so that the developers can confirm the issue or a new bug will need to be filed.

Ok, any chance it will be fixed soon?

Can you confirm if the issue is reproducible for you. A developer has replied that this issue is not related to the bug report I linked earlier. I will file a new bug report after you tell me a way to reproduce the issue.

As for as the fix is concerned, it depends on the priority and nature of the bug.

Ya, I open a page with flash video, it freezes and crashes if I leave it open too long. It freezes if I switch to another page. And It freezes if I interact with the video. Basically, if I do anything with a page with flash video page, the tab it's on crashes. I don't think you can reproduce it because you don't have the Firefox install that I have. I am worried that some third party software is causing this.

I have filed a bug for this issue here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1390031

Thanks, hope it helps.

Hello, can you tell me what pages generated those crashes if possible. Developers want to know it to analyse your crash report.

Hi, if you have Malwarebytes software on your PC, please disable it to test if that is causing the crash. It may need updating.

It's not any specific page that's causing the crashes to trigger. Both Youtube videos and wiki articles with ads trigger the page to crash. Strangely enough, flash games with ads don't trigger it.

I updated flash, and I'm able to watch videos now. Not sure if that solved the problem, but the problem is gone for now.

The tabs started crashing again.

Can you provide relevant information in the bug report. Please reply to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1390031#c5 this comment. Without more information it is impossible to solve issue :(

Please give us any crash report number you have not posted yet.

I don't think you get it, I don't think this is a bug. I think this is a problem with my Firefox install.

Those are problems with the Shockwave Flash plugin.
