Just bought new MacBook Air. macOS Sierra 10.12.6. Installed Firefox. Bookmarks are in crazy order, not alpahabetical.

Go into Show All Bookmarks and reorder them as you prefer. (If you had them alphabetical and they are supposed to be synced, I cannot help—when I add a new bookmark to the bar it always shows up on the left end, 1st reading L to R, unless I choose a folder for it.) Hope this helps.

If you use the Views menu in the Library then this is the equivalent of clicking the column header. That way you only sort the list for viewing purposes and aren't actually sorting the list permanently. If you want to sort bookmarks then you need to right-click a folder and use "Sort By Name" to sort that folder. You can't right-click individual bookmarks to sort them, only folders can be sorted this way.

I can go to Show All Bookmarks and get them alphabetical. When I click on Bookmarks in the macOS menu bar the folders are a jumbled mess.
