Today, I was asked to create a Firefox sync account, it asks me to sign in on a second device to complete the account setup, but I don't have a second device?

So no Sync account I guess?

Hi, the purpose of Sync is to share settings and data between two different installations of Firefox. If you only have one installation of Firefox, then, maybe Sync isn't for you?

Oops. It was a suggestion when I opened Firefox, I thought it was a sync between my phone and a Cloud setting somewhere. I have such settings for several apps on my phone with my email account, for instance. I didn't notice that the suggestion said anything about two devices, it was just a whole page suggesting I use Firefox sync.

Thanks for the info!

Even with only a single device, it can be quite useful when switching to a new phone. Using Sync one can easily restore the Firefox bookmarks on the new phone. However, Sync isn't exactly meant to rely on it as a backup mechanism though.
