Hello thanks for the continuous amazing job to improve Thunderbird. I am afraid that the latest release (91.4.1) has several issues on mac, at least on Mac OS X (Catalina)

1) First, attachments: when opening an attachment from TB, it appears as if it was saved in a random directory in the background, but it is not there. For example, i click on a pdf: it opens. I check where the pdf is located, and gives the name of a random directory. I go to the directory, bit the file is nowhere to be seen. I close the pdf, and open again the attachment, and now it opens adding a suffix to the file name, as if it was opening a copy in the same random directory. Back in the directory none fo the two files is there. I have no idea what is going on, but is quite confusing and unhelpful.

2) Quick filter: by default the quick filter searches in the email "body" when searching in sent folder. This causes TB to get stuck for ages, as the search is super long. Not even the time to change from email body to "recipient"/"sender" address because TB gets stuck before there is the time to click on any other option. This making the client extremely inefficient and hard to use.

Really hope these two issues can be quickly restored to working as well as before the latest release If anybody has any advice, would really appreciate

Kind regards tommaso

Quick filter, out of the box, definitely does not search on message body in any folder. If you are not able to change that behavior by deselecting "body" then it is probably caused by an add-on.

The attachment problem is a currently open issue.
