Firefox crashes (does not open at all) since I updated to version 3.6.4. Not even when I re-downloaded it several times. Now, even the old version doesn't start. I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.4. It doesn't show that pop up window that explains why it crashed. It just stops and quits.

User Agent

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_4; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.16 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/533.16

Morbus I will try that... BUT you need to know that yesterday after the 3.6.4 update - safe mode would not open a window either. AND that does not answer the question of the other folk in our office, all on windows machines, all without addons, plugsin etc. so, thou I will try that FYI... I am doubtful.

Morbus! we DO have an office-wide add on

Broadsoft Telephony Toolbar v17.0 which installs: Microsoft .NET Framework Assitant 1.1 Java Quick Starter

this runs our phone system so is NOT an option to disable. alas. we will have to switch to IE (HORRORS) so fix this if you can. PLEASE!!

If safe mode will not start, see this page.

Also, don't you have Flash on your Firefoxes? Flash is a plugin. And so are loads of other software. Check your installed plugins by going into Tools > Add-ons > Plugins.

I understand that it may not be an option to disable add-ons, but this is just for diagnostic purposes. If you find that one of your plugins that you can't live with is causing the problem, you know you need to contact its developer for support.

Please do try safe mode.

.: I am having the same problem. FF won't open, I'm running OS 10.6.4. It crashes a few seconds after trying to either restore or not restore the previous session. Very frustrating.
