Firefox and old java version

more options

I installed Firefox on 3 computers; each have java 6 update 30. On the first PC I got a prompt when I visited a site that requires java asking me if I want to run once or allow this site to use java every time I visit it. On the other 2 computers java just started working. What do I need to do to get the functionality of my first install. I only want java to run on one site and have it disabled everywhere else.

Maybe the blocklist.xml file isn't up-to-date on the other two computers? Firefox should retrieve it regularly into the profile folder. You can check the timestamp here:

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button (or "Open Folder" or "Show in Finder", depending on OS)

The three machines had Firefox installed on the same day.

There may be a random delay before the blocklist.xml file is updated. I certainly can't think of any other explanation if you did clean installs with default settings.
