Access topwebsites
Since the upgrade I can only choose the topwebsites when I open a new tab. Is there no option to open a topwebsite by clicking in the navigation section? Thank you.

Hi Haesen.
As before the update, the top websites are pinned to the homescreen for easy use. The search bar can be configured to search your bookmarks and your browsing history.
I hope that this helps.
Thanks for your answer. How can I adjust the search bar? I can only adjust the search engines.
If you scroll down in the menu where you select the search engines, you will see the other search options that are available.
I hope that this helps.
Unfortunately not. Do you mean when I click the search bar or in the settings menu? Because I can't scroll in either of them...
Hi
If you:
- Tap the three dot menu
- Select Settings
- Select Search
and at the bottom of the screen you will see the address bar options.
I hope that this helps.
Thank you. Unfortunately not. I don't know if you can read Dutch, but I've attached a screenshot of the options.
The options are: - Show searchbookmarks (this show my search engines, or not) - Show clipboardsuggestions - Search navigation history - Search bookmarks - Search spoken searches - Show search suggestions
and then an option to show in private sessions.
Which option should it be then?
I have exactly the same problem or wish, but i think the question was misunderstood so far, i'll to put it in other words:
In OLD firefox for android: we could either: open a new tab -> select a presented bookmark / often used sites from the list -> load that page. This still works in NEW firefox for Android (and it's good).
or we could: being in an existing tab with some site loaded -> tap on the url bar -> select a bookmark -> load that new page. This does not work in NEW firefox for Android anymore.
What happens in NEW firefox when we tap the url bar in an existing tab is: – the old url in the url bar is highlighted to edit, so we can enter a new adress by typing (and the visited / important / bookmarked sites show up when typing, but now we have to type to see them). – Below that is a big white space with nothing (this is where the bookmarks were in OLD firefox to simply tap on without having to type) – and at the end of the screen there are buttons for "scan" and "Search engines".
So i think what we'd like to have is that important sites / bookmarks / collections show up to select, no matter whether we have just created a new tab (all good) or we try to re-use an existing tab to load some other page (currently bad). The way it is now, very often that screen that appears when tapping the url bar is quite a dead end – we can't even decide to open a new tab when being brought there – if we don't want to type, scan or use a search engine, there is no way to get out of it again (except from going back in history).

Spot on s.nagel. This is exactly what I mean, only more clear described. :)
If you have the sites saved as bookmarks (a good idea), then select the "- Search bookmarks" option.
I hope that this helps.

This has been brought up in this forum numerous times, bit they simply don't get it, or don't want to. I'm about to give up on Firefox for Android.
well after some days trying to get to accustomed to this, it's so annoying i'm looking for firefox alternatives on android (and as sync is essential, that alternative might pull desktop with it sooner or later).
Been a user since Phoenix 0.5, so i'll be patient and hope for the best, but there are UI situations i'm get stuck so much in almost blank pages, the only useful option is navigate back with the system's back function.
