Hi !

PROBLEM: This is a recent problem. I didn't have this issue before. When I open a pdf in firefox and print it, it prints 1/4 size (top left corner).

ATTEMPTS AT TROUBLESHOOTING - I've tried adjusting the scaling options on my printer, but still get the same results. - I've confirmed "printer_paper_data" is set to "1" for both Adobe PDF as well as a my printer, "Brother_HL_2270DW" - Made sure printers were set to shrink to fit = true

My settings are configured to open pdf documents in firefox.

Hi TeresitaInSF, I think you have checked the most common problems.

Is this only an issue for PDFs and not for web pages, or does anything you direct to that particular printer have the same problem?

Also, since you already are familiar with about:config, could you also check the preferences containing the following text in case they don't match the Page Setup dialog:

  • shrink_to_fit => any that are false you can double-click to flip to true
  • scaling => any that are not 1 you can double-click and set to 1
  • paper_width => mine all say -1.00 which I assume means follow the paper_data setting
  • paper_height => mine all say -1.00 which I assume means follow the paper_data setting

Hi jscher. Thanks for the prompt response!

The problem was isolated to pdfs only. I must confess I'm not much at all familiar with about:config - beyond what I was able to glean from your other very helpful posts.

UPDATE: Printing properly again !!!

STEPS TAKEN: - changed Shrink to Fit settings to "true". Notably "print.printer_Adobe_PDF.print_shrink_to_fit" was set to false - changed Scaling to "1" (Adobe was set to ".5", Brother printer ranged from ".5" to ".8" for various)

Many, many thanks to you! I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
