FF28 was OK, I want it back please. I don't like FF29 control system.

The suggested addons do not allow me to restore the controls completely to how I had them, so I want FF28 back:

  • File-Edit-View..etc on top, (plus Seach Engines (eg Wikipedia) mini-search bar on that line too;
  • OLD STYLE Menu Bar with all the main control buttons together and the main URL/locator bar at the end, and
  • tabs BELOW.
  • Integrated DL/DL-Progress 'bar' at bottom of window.
    • AND BEING ABLE TO RESTORE/"CUSTOMISE" TO RETAIN THAT SETUP
          • THAT'S the way I like it, uh huh, uh huh..******

Actually, an ever better interface idea - but to keep things tidy, I'll suggest that separately.

I've been with you people since Netscape 3.0, (which I originally installed from the cd in the (then) AUD80- Netscape Navigator Book (I think it was called)), and I LIKED the controls the way they were (=my 'customisations') although there are some nice addons amongst the newer stuff too, eg the Google Shortcuts button, and Flagfox. Cheers!

You can still have the Menu bar visible

  • Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden Menu bar.

You can use one of these to set which toolbars to show.

  • Firefox 3-bar menu button > Options/Preferences
  • View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the hidden Menu bar)
  • Right-click empty toolbar area

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.
