I keep getting a message to update firefox video. Is this ligitimate. have gotten some strange redirects the las feww days. concerned about that, too.

While i was trying to register for this it even tried to redirect to the Your video is ready page. Something is really going on. i did a scan for virus and spyware, adware and all ok

This sounds like a virus, and due to the add-ons in your Firefox (Mystart toolbar is malware) I'm going to guess your computer is heavily infected.
