Hi I have just upgraded mu iMac (mid 2007) to Yosemite but Firefox keeps crashing on startup even in safe mode. Reinstalled Firefox from download but no luck. I tried creating a brand new profile - this worked and Firefox opened but I wanted to keep all my favourites and passwords etc so I refreshed Firefox and copied the default profile (this deleted the new named one that worked). The new profile (based on default) keeps crashing Firefox at startup again. I wanted to try to remove some addins manually - please could you advise how to do this

Thanks

Hello RosieA, please see : Disable or remove Add-ons

if you have problem : Cannot remove an add-on (extension or theme)

analytical info : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_extensions

for your crashes, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

I notice mention of Rapport in your report's crashing threads, and a web search picked up mention of banking in relation to libidprimepkcs11.dylib

Do you use Trusteer Rapport ?

If so ensure it is fully up to date. If that fails try disabling it

Try to update or uninstall and reinstall Trusteer Rapport and if that doesn't help then disable/stop the program for now.
  • Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport
  • Mac:System Preferences -> Other -> Rapport -> Stop Rapport
{ from /questions/1061312 )

The Trusteer support for both bank customers and enterprise appears now to be run by IBM, and I am not sure it now has a public forum for end users.

Download the current full installer for your Rapport and save it.

Remove Rapport from your computer. Reboot.

Do Not install Rapport at this time. Are there any problems?
