I used the drop down 'i' in the circle to confirm that I wanted this site to provide notifications. See file attached. It worked for a week, then stopped providing a sound cue that I had received an email. It just stopped. What is the solution to fix this? Thank you. That is not Firefox, its an add-on. Contact its support.

Hi JiminKirkwood, if you gave a website permission to display desktop notifications, you would get little rectangles in the lower right of your screen. That type of notification is silent, Firefox doesn't allow sites to play sounds that way.

Do you still get the text notifications?

If you were hearing sounds before, it's possible your inbox was open in a tab somewhere in Firefox. Is it open now, and you're not getting anything? Do you get other sounds from Firefox? For example, HTML5 audio or video players (some test pages):
