all but one incoming messages do not download
I've been using Thunderbird for over a year - no problems. Suddenly two days ago it stopped downloading new incoming messages, except one. It shows the message at the bottom like "Downloading 1 of 68 messages" (the latter number growing all the time of course as more messages stack up, not downloaded) but only one message downloads - the same one (an ordinary message from a colleague) over and over again. So I can't receive mail to Thunderbird on my laptop. I don't think the problem is the ISP or its service as I can get incoming mail to the same address using the mail app on my phone. Thunderbird otherwise looks normal and it sends mails - it just doesn't receive (except that one). I haven't changed any settings, I have no filters, my Inbox folder is empty, I'm getting no error messages (neither are the people sending to me as their mails are obviously getting to the remote server and I can get them on my phone). Any ideas??? many thanks Gary

Go to your email provider's website and deal with this stuck message there. There is something about it that leads Thunderbird to think it hasn't completely downloaded, so it remains in the queue. Delete it and the backed up messages behind it will come through.
