Attempt to download page/form tab bar scrolls extremely fast

Opening a to download a page/form the tab bar begins scrolling extremely fast to the left and won't stop too fast to click on the (x) have to do a hard shut down.. Is there a fix? No other browser does this.

You get tabs opening endlessly if you select the Firefox program to handle a file When you get an "Open with" dialog. You should never select Firefox if you get an open with dialog.

Is this about Portable Document Format (PDF) files?
