Thunderbird, IMAP account. Doing housekeeping to reduce email volume on server and also remove old stuff. Most folders can be deleted OK but lots of them give the above error message and the folder is not removed. Sequence is right click on folder, "D", "D" .

Oops looks like I figured it out. But seems like a problem still. When you delete a folder it puts the folder in trash. If you then delete another folder with the same name it can't do it because there is already a folder with that name in trash. Sort of makes sense but would be nice if I didn't have to keep on going to trash and "empty trash" by hand before I can proceed. Is there a better way?

The Trash folder can be bypassed with Shift+Delete.

Sure is obvious when you point it out. Never knew there was a "hard" delete to bypass the trash folder. Thanks.
