Hi all, I use mozilla.cfg to customize the deploy of firefox in my LAN so I would like to change the default search engine for all my firefox installation, I don't trust google. Please can I know the settings I have to add to my mozilla.cfg to set the default search engine?

Thank you very much

Best regards

After each update, my mozilla.cfg contains the following entry: defaultPref("browser.search.selectedEngine","Google.com"); I used to change it but since I couldn't find the setting in my about:config I have just deleted that entry. (I backup the file before editing it.) I don't have the Google search engine installed and have set another as the default.

Most Search policies are only available for ESR versions, so it might not be easy to achieve this if there are release versions used (you posted with 78 ESR).

I've moved the thread to Firefox for Enterprise in case Mike Kaply has suggestions.

You can't set the default search engine via mozilla.cfg.

As cor-el indicated, you can set the default search engine via policy but only on the ESR.
