"ios homepage settings" (benisjesus2003 9/13/21, 10:44 AM) and "How to open iOS Firefox on blank home page" (miggy.ad 9/16/21, 5:57 PM), both started discussions regarding the use of "about:blank" and seeing a blank page when Firefox iOS opens. There really was not a solution provided. I've a work around for the time being and would like to know if anyone else has a better solution because "about:blank" has been a favorite homepage, Opening Screen, ...etc. Start with the 3 horizontal bars in the bottom right corner. Select {Settings} and {Homepage} is selected, the first setting is [OPENING SCREEN]. Set this to {Homepage}. Scroll down to [CURRENT HOMEPAGE] and type "https://www.blank.org" into {Custom URL}. To save the entry, touch {Firefox Home} just above the entry. The results while not the same as "about:blank" are very similar. If anyone else has a better solution, please post it here. (Please keep any replies positive to we can share ideals and solutions in the common forum.)

Chosen solution

Kiki, Thank you for the suggestion. The {New Tab} setting was already set to [Blank Page], but I failed to list it in the previous post. Some further searching revealed that About: is a web browser command, or Universal Resource Identifier. The URI provides information to the user. If you type about:about in web browser address bar, a list of available commands will be listed. If you type about:version in web browsers other than Firefox the software version is displayed. The iOS version doesn't support About: My sense is Mozilla is moving away from these URI commands, hence the need to use www.blank.org and the about:about will not work on iOS Firefox.

As previously mentioned, the workaround and [New Tab] setting seems to be the solution.

Best wishes

Hi nbrac,

I think you might have answered your own question.

However, in addition to that, you can also set it by going to Settings -> New Tab -> select Blank Page.

Hope that helps!
