Thunderbird and Firefox "lost" my info? No email, no bookmarks, as if I never existed.

I shut down Firefox and Thunderbird in Task Manager this morning (I was watching a video and Firefox froze my computer screen and I hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete to open Task Manager to shut them down). I restarted my computer and now Thunderbird and Firefox don't recognize me and I have no email or bookmarks. Also my whole desktop got messed up and icons are not where I had them.

I got as far as opening the prefs.js in notepad. I can see the string mail account has stuff in it, but after that I am lost as far as what it says to do. :( Sorry.
