JavaScript is a part of Firefox as perhaps you have one or more Extensions installed in Firefox that affects how JavaScript works in Firefox. For example https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/ among many other Extensions like in this search https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/search/?q=Javascript&type=extension
