bookmark star missing
I know how to bookmark a page- what I want to know is how to restore the bookmark star in the address bar (I accidentally removed it). I KNOW that you can bookmark a page by clicking the 3 dots at the end of the address bar and using the drop down menu, etc, or key commands.
BUT- I want to RESTORE the star that easily and quickly allowed you to bookmark a page. All other answers to this same question seem to only tell people alternate ways to bookmark a page. I don't need that. I need to know how to restore bookmark star to address bar. Thanks! my firefox ver is 84.0.1 64bit

You may have accidentally removed the star via the right-click context menu (Remove from Address Bar).
You can find items like the Bookmark Star in the drop-down list that opens if you click the "Page actions" button (3-dot icon at the right end of the location/address bar). You can right-click an item in the 3-dot "Page actions" drop-down list to add its button to the location bar for easy access.
i could be really dumb here but idk what u mean when u say page action button u mean the button that looks like 3 lines if yes when i right click it just says menu bar bookmarks tool bar and customize ? i could be going to the wrong place tho
if i left click the 3 lines go to libary i can see the bookmark icon in ther but it wont let me right click it i can left click it and my options are bookmark page bookmarking tools and and serch bookmarks am i in the right place or no ?
This is not about the three lines menu button at the far right on the Navigation Toolbar, but about the three-dot (...) button at the right end of the location/address bar that opens the menu with the star and other items like "Pin Tab" and "Take a Screendhot".

let me try explain it better so top right of firefox u have the open menu and beside that i use to have a star i would click and it would show all my bookmarks
You can add the "Bookmarks Menu" button that shows the bookmarks in a drop-down list to the Navigation Toolbar via these steps:
- click the bookshelf icon on the Navigation Toolbar or alternatively use the Library menu in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list
- click Bookmarks
- click "Bookmarking Tools", then click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"
You can also drag the Bookmarks Menu button from the Customize palette to the Navigation Toolbar

Are you sure that this isn't about the star in the location bar that opens the Edit This Bookmark dialog where you can edit the current bookmarked page ?
Did you already restore the star and have it visible next to the '...' button ?
This just happened to me. On the right end of the location bar I have the icon for Toggle Reader view. On the right of that I now have 3 horizontal dots--this is new. I have clicked on that and see the drop down menu. But that isn't what I had before. It suddenly disappeared as I was trying to fix a bookmarked page. I have reset my options and recreated my setup with Customize Toolbar. I do have the black outlined bookmark star/underline. That is not the issue. On the right side where the 3 dots are now, there was a solid blue star that when clicked on, would allow me to remove a book mark. When I would visit a location that was already bookmarked, that blue star would appear there. That helped me to know that link was already bookmarked. I could click on the blue star and Edit the bookmark, if I chose. Now there is no blue star. Only the 3 dots. I want the blue star back. windows 7, firefox 88.0, 32 bit
