Restore firefox session questions
A few days ago I opened my monitor and was greeted by Firefox, already open, with the session erased. No clue how or why.
I found this thread [restore firefox session]. Very helpful.
I solved the problem by copying the latest upgrade.jsonlz4 file in the sessionstore-backups folder, renaming the copy as sessionstore.lsonlz4, renamed the original to sessionstoreold.jsonlz4, and replaced it with the copy in the main profile foider. It worked fine.
The only problem was the backup file was 2-3 days old, so there is a disparity between the content of the latest erased session, and the tabs from the backup.
I'm confused why there wouldn't be a backup created whenever the browser is closed, or something to that effect.
Is there no way to increase the frequency of created backups, and the quantity of of theses backups?

Your link is broken. You need to close Firefox with the exit button or the keyboard shortcut. You should do that with all the tabs and windows you want to keep still open so don't close any of them. These articles may help.

You can look at this tool to inspect a compressed jsonlz4 sessionstore file.

You can look at this tool to inspect a compressed jsonlz4 sessionstore file.Hi cor-el,
What would I be doing with that file? Are we referring to some way that file might be altered to achieve the frequency of backups and/or increasing the number of backups that Firefox will maintain in storage by default?
I just looked at that sessionstore folder. The upgrade.jsonlz4 file hasn't been updated until since 6/11. I can also achieve a session restore by using the recovery.baklz4 file, but apparently that file, while it is updated when closing Firefox, there are no previous backups to rely on. So what happens if I have repeat of the original incident?

You can copy a file from the sessionstore-backups folder like aupgrade.jsonlz4 file to the main profile and rename the file to sessionstore.jsonlz4 to replace the current file with Firefox closed.
- make sure to keep a backup copy of the current sessionstore.jsonlz4

Also, can someone tell me if they are having problems posting here. When I tried to reply here earlier, I first posted, then I edited, and when I chose "update answer" my post disasppeared. Same thing happened on another thread here I tried post to today.
Forgive me for bringing that up here, but I couldn't find any other to post something like this.

That was on Firefox. I switched to Chrome. Initially no problem on Chrome, but when I tried to edit there, post was erased.
Forgive me for bringing that up here, but I couldn't find any other place to post something like this.
