When I open a new tab it sounds like an airplane flying overhead. I already tried the safe mode thing and it does not occur in safe mode I am already on the default.

Note that the status of plugins is not affected in firefox safe mode.

You can check your plugins by going to:

  • Tools (or New Fx Menu) > Add-ons > Plugins

If you download a new copy, make sure you download from:

double checked it says "you don't have any add-ons of this type installed" when I checked. So do you all think I should try downloading again?

I uninstalled and downloaded again but it is still there... I don't think I did it right because all of my bookmarks and stuff were still there. Any other ideas besides getting rid of it completely?

Your profile information is stored in a separate location from the Firefox installation so that if something is wrong with the Firefox install, you won't lose your information like bookmarks and such.

  • Either enter about:support into your address bar, or

There should be buttons at the top of the page to copy the contents of the page; click one of them and paste them here. Hopefully it will give us a hint as to what is going on.
