I want to install my firefox profile onto a different drive from the program. How can this be done?

I have two virtual drives: C for programs and D: for data. Only D: is encrypted and backed up. I want to install Firefox onto the C: drive but have the profile on D: so the bookmarks etc. are encrypted and backed up. I can see how to do this.
