My screen is black, the print is white. I clicked on something this after noon that made this change. I would like to return to the white screen with black print. However I cannot locate the place to make the change. Can you help? My system is Vista

Thank You ever so much. Using your direction - the 'words' were not exactly as you had stated, so I continued my search now knowing what to look for. > Start >Computer, >Appearance and Personalization >Window Color & Appearance Under Appearance Turned off High Contrast Black

Reset it at: Windows Vista Basic

Screen returned to near normal. Thank You Again stiffysmom

You can check the default color settings:

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Thank you ever so much for trying to help. I am not very computer literate. I followed your directions. When I went to Tools, >Options,>Content, > Fonts & Colors I found the __ to check ----- Allow pages to choose their own colors instead of my selections above.

That box was Checked. So I unchecked it, and Restarted - still no change So I checked the box again - still no change, everything is black with white print. Is there another place that affects this choice?

You can check that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.
