I recently bought a new laptop that is running windows 8. I am also running the most recent version of Firefox and i have the most up to date version of flash player but i cannot watch any sort of videos online including you tube. The pages load but then where the video should be it is just a blank white screen. this is starting to piss me off as i have the latest fire fox running on a windows 7 laptop that works fine is it a windows 8 compatibility bug or is there something im missing? any help to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.

Did you installed any Adblock plus extension(Addons)

All my plugins were up to date and yes i do have adblock plus extensions. After lots of looking on Google and as a last resort i uninstalled flash player 11 and reinstalled flash 10.3 after that everything is working again, i believe it may just be a windows 8/Firefox/flash 11 compatibility issue

Disable/Uninstall the Adblock plus extension and check it out....

i will try disabling adblock tonight and reinstalling the latest version of flash again, but by doing that it creates a new problem with the pop ups and all those annoying ads when browsing which adblock prevents

Try to make use of Pop up blocker Addons

You can allow sites (once the site is loaded) in AdBlock Plus by clicking on the ABP icon and clicking "Disable on <site name>".
