Where did my "Spam" and "Junk" folders disappear to?

In my Thunderbird, the folders appear in a column on the left--Inbox, Drafts, Sent Mail, Trash, etc. That list had included "Spam" and "Junk" as well. Today the "Spam" and "Junk" folders disappeared. I need to retrieve them, as emails continue to accumulate in them. I do scan both folders regularly, as occasionally a legitimate email finds its way into one of them. Can you tell me how to get those folders back on my Thunderbird?

re :That list had included "Spam"

Thunderbird does not create default folders using the word 'Spam', so it is likely you are using an imap mail account and 'Spam' is an imap folder which you subscribe to see.

Check to see if it needs to be subscribed to see it. Right click on imap mail account folder in Folder pane and select 'Subscribe' You should see a list. Select 'Spam' and click on 'Subscribe'. click on OK
