I have read where to implement a policy, a policies.json file needs to be created. I have done that and it works (only problem a user can change it in preferences menu).

I downloaded policy templates v1.6 and it has a file org.moziila.firefox.plist. Putting this file in /Library/Preferences/ has not worked. Also about:policies at the address line shows no active policies.

I have tried putting org.moziila.firefox.plist in /Library/Preferences/ and ~/Library/Preferences/ doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong ? Thanks for your help !! firefox version enterprise 66.0.2 OS Mojave 10.14.3

The plist file must be converted to a mobileconfig file in order to be installed to the user.

Or use something like Profile Creator:

thanks for your help. I was able to create a profile with a plist file. I was testing things on my computer and now when trying to get a clean install of firefox … I get "your browser is being maintained by your organization". How do I get rid of that... also when I enter about:policies I get "The enterprise policies service is active but there are no policies enabled". my current firefox version is firefox quantum 68.0.1 64bit

You can't. That is to notify the user that their machine is being managed.

It sounds like there are no settings in your plist file? Just enabling policies.
