Hello Friends,

I installed the new Firefox Update, but I'm very unhappy with that. Because the Download Panel disturbs when I do many little Downloads and it is Shows every time. Is there any Chance to change that?

The second Problem I have is that I Download "dlc" Files and I want to Open them automatically in jDownloader, but the Option with "Always Open Similar Files" don't exist in the Download Panel so I can't say it should be opened with jDownloader. Is there any trick to get unknown Filetypes opened with a Program? With the Version before this it works without any problem.

Greetings René

If you were downloading DLC files before the change, Firefox may have created an entry on the Settings page for what to do with them. In the article cor-el linked earlier --

I looked at this Aricle but it won't help me, because the Filetype is not listet there to Change what to do with it. And as you can see in the Screenshot I made, there is no Option after Downloading to Change that the File should be open with some special Program. Because of that I asked here.

I made a new Profile of Firefox because I had some Problems to load some Files and leaved the Old. But the new Profile has the same Problems with loading the Sites. So I changed back to the Old Profile, but Firefox don't handle the "dlc" Files anymore. Because of that I deleted the handlers.json. But this don't helped to get the Option to get the DLC Files opened with my jDownloader.

Hi René, after searching about .dlc files, the problem might be if the server indicates that the .dlc file is a generic binary file (application/octet-stream). In that case, Firefox doesn't let you associate it with any specific program. But it worked for you in earlier versions of Firefox?

Yes before the new Firefox Version I got the dlc File Associated with jDownloader and it automatically opened with jDownloader. Same here with the nzb-Files, I got no question any longer what I would do with the file so Firefox only download and I can't let him open the File with any specific Program. An there is no entry in the List for nzb or dlc, but in the older Version there although was no entry but I could choose to open it with the Program on first Download of the Fileformat. For me It's a big step back if Firefox don't let me choose what I would do with any unknown format file. Think I'm not the only One who thinks so.

Can you give sample links to DLC and NZB files (no login required)? This forum sends external links to the spam queue for moderation, but you can bypass that by breaking the link. For example, put a space before the .com:

https://www.example .com/path/file.html

I only can give you this link with a DLC File without login: "https://filecrypt.cc/Container/6CE85B3FD2.html"

and here you could download nzb's: "https://www.nzbking.com/search/?q=bravo"

Hope the Links work.

The .dlc file is send as "application/octet-stream" and "content-disposition:attachment", so that might be causing this issue.

content-disposition: attachment; filename="1756368d9d06bb7f424ce110c44d7bd59ff5c129.dlc"
content-type: application/octet-stream

Yes might be, but before it worked, why not after the Update? It must have give a Change on the new Version. And it don't interrest me why it don't work. In the old Version it worked and in the new Version it also must work. All other is a Step backward.
