Switched back from 5 to 3.6.18...you too?

Hi all.

Firefox has been my favourite browser since V1. V3 had some crashing issues for a while, especially with Youtube, but these ceased after installing a flash-blocker. Versions 4 & 5 however performed so miserably that I almost considered switching to Chrome or Opera. Constantly hanging when clicking bookmarks (about 1 in every 10 clicks, then hanging for circa 20 seconds!) and general slowness loading pages.

My solution was to completely uninstall Firefox, then re-install 3.6.18...instant improvement! The whole browsing experience is appreciably faster, and no hang-ups either.

Hopefully when 5 is updated it will perform just as well as 3.6.18...but until I can be sure, I won't be updating.

I'm interested in how many of you have used this solution? I for one am happy it's still possible to use V3 as otherwise I would have been jumping ship.

By the way I'm XP SP3.

Peace.

Firefox 6, 7 and 8 are probably better, and you can try them now if you wish. You may not find firefox 3.6 is around and supported for much longer. (Unless Mozilla Firefox has a change of heart - a possibility ?
